Fear_perceptions by jonesray Fear_perceptions by jonesray
Uploading a big image so you guys can hopefully see some of the detail in this. It's originally 20x30in, ink on Arches 140 lb coldpress watercolor paper. The beginning of my depiction of fears and allowing my work to become more abstract.

edit: FULL VIEW.

Damn man, this is incredible. Its almost like working backwards if you ask me, I would have a hard time with this. You have to draw with negative space in mind at all times Im assuming. Very inspiring.

Sorry about the late reply. Actually.....thats how I think when i plan my pieces now. I have to plan things in reverse... Ink is ridiculously unforgiving. :)

Love this, but to balance out the thickness, i'd love to see some thin flow-y lines extending off to the left.

God this is beautiful. Is it a fear of going blind? Or am I just seeing my own fear?

this is very nice, I feel like going abstract alienates an audience made up mostly of people who like having things handed to them (I hope that makes sense). I feel like it's a brave choice to make people work for your art, but things like this are well worth the effort.

The rich texture that the contrast of lines make is pretty damn awesome.

Would have liked to see a little more around the mask/head though, only place that looks to need work to me'

forever loving the way your inks flow onto and off the canvas, always with total confidence and certainty yet never contrived.
