A piece done for the NYTimes on the Jena six. Ink and some digital tonality, though it felt like it belonged in this category.

edit: This was/ is being shown to the art directors, but wasn't actually used for the published article. This is an SVA grad program assignment.

wow, it's kind of metaphoric to me... the branches grow from the deers' heads like strange ideas on the one hand but on the other they're tied to the branches and could strangle themselves... that's like some "you made your bed - not sleep in it" moral ^^

Thank you for really taking in the image! I like your interpretation, it was what I was going for when I thought up this concept. The whole racial divide and hate thing is self defeating and hurts everyone imo. :nod:
